Patches
I got this little kitty, and I called her 'lil' Patches,
cause I live in an old school bus,
and I need a cat that snatches;
Things that I hold dear, and things that I remember,
and things that I might need to eat,
come this next December!

I called her 'lil' Patches, cause of this Lady that I met,
one night at a Biker run,
an round the campfire we did set;
We talked about a lot of things, places where we'd been,
and then I left the next day,
thinking thats the end;
Many people out there know me, and I said I looked for her,
I didn't know her real name,
but to look for her I was sure;
That somewhere down the highway, I'd run into her again!

When I thought I was at the end,
of all these roads that I've been on,
along came Patches, she was just around the bend;
When your gettin old and gray, and think that it's the end,
you better not shut it down,
believe me my old friend;
I have found that life gets better, the older that you get,
and your worried bout the things you've done,
and that your children will fret;
About the way that you've turned out, and things you have done,
and of all the roads you didn't take,
to lead you to the sun;

They'll have to make their own way, down their own road they must go,
sometimes you can help them,
and sometimes you don't know;
How to help them with the problem, or which road they should take,
to make life a little better,
how not to make a mistake;
That this road is long and Rocky, and they'll have to travel Far;
To find someone like PATCHES, a brite and shinging star;
To find someone like PATCHES, to make things go right;
To find someone like PATCHES, to make it thru the night;
To find someone like PATCHES, to curl up in your lap;
To find someone like PATCHES, that needs to take a nap;
To find someone like PATCHES, that does'nt care who you are;
She does'nt check your bankbook, or look at your car;
To find someone like PATCHES, you'll be lucky my old friend;
Cause PATCHES turned it all around--and I'm smilin again!!!!
                          for Her by me
