Goin' Under
Goin' Under they say, is a hell of a thing;
If your a lucky Ol' Coon, your praises they'll sing.
The trip may be short, or it can take a while;
But the Shinin' thing is, to go with a smile.
It may be Ol' Ephriam, or Bugs Boys the cause,
When this Nigger go's, I hope they will pause;
At some Ronnyvoo, that I cannot make,
An from some jug of Pie, a drink they will take.
To look back at the time, that we spent out there;
An say Waugh, that Ol' Coon sure was Har O The Bar.
Then you can take all my Plunder, to with as you will,
It isn't worth all, that I had to kill;
You can keep it or burn it or give it away,
It isn't worth nothin, where I'm gonna stay.
I'll be met at the Gate, by that Coon called Ol' Pete;
He's been waitin for me with some friends I'll soon meet.
There'll be Bridger, Smith an Fitzpatrick for sure;
And others I've known, that took Beaver for fur.
It's OUR Shinin Time now, I've walked my last mile;
Cause when I went under, I went with a SMILE!
